Well, this has been the weirdest year of my life. Working from home, avoiding people for over 9 months. No social life and reading the same news everyday. One thing that’s helped me through it all has been knowing that a few people from all over the world come to visit this site and read my nonsense. Going into lockdown in March kicked me off to start writing again. I know, I know this was yet another downside of covid πππ
Before that in February I had written ‘The Vegan Vigilantes’ which was simply funny interactions with some vegans I’ve met along the way, how vegans had brought Melbourne to a standstill while we were in Australia, and a look at some suggestions by the UK Vegan Society around storing food in the workplace. (It’s not an anti vegan article by the way π₯³)

In March I wrote the start of a comedy around Scotlands first space effort called ‘The Scotsmonauts’. I’m working on part 2 just now but I’m overthinking it. I usually just go with the flow but I want this one to be great. Hmmm. I’m sure it’ll come together βΊοΈ

In April we were in Lockdown so ‘Lockdown – 43 Holgate Street’ appeared. A light hearted story about a family coping with lockdown while the Mum works for the NHS and the father is stuck on the other side of the world. it’s here https://57millionthbestblogintheworld.com/2020/04/04/lockdown-43-holgate-street/
It was nearly the end of May before my next new story. ‘The Soggy Bottom Cafe’ – a simple story about a Glasgow cafe returning from the first lockdown with new restrictions in place. It makes rubbish pizzas but it gets great Tripadvisor ratings for a reason I won’t spoil.

Something happened to me in October though. I think I needed something to take my mind off the constant barrage of grim news and poor politicians. I went on a spree, writing a story once a week until Christmas. This was unheard of and resulted in 1300 visits to my blog by peeps from all over the world. Australia, China, India, Nepal, UAE, Belgium, Finland, UK, USA, Philippines. It was amazing.
Here are all the links to those stories….. If you end up reading them. I hope they cheer you up and put at least a small smile on your face. If you have read them, liked them and they did cheer you up let me know. My email is davidlinden4@gmail.com I would love to hear from you and your stories. In the meantime, I hope you have a great 2021. Cheers all the way from Bonnie Scotland.
cheers
Dave
