There are a few things we adults struggle to control. Kids, spending and weight are three things that spring to mind. The latter is one of the main things I’ve battled with since having to stop playing football.
So, what are the 5 & a 1/2 things we’ve learnt about diets.

Firstly, if you expend less energy than you take in you will put on weight. Shimples. So, i can cut out all the the wine in the world but if I’m sitting on my bottom doing nothing all the time i probably still won’t lose weight.
Number 2 Vegans can take it too far occasionally. I once went for lunch with friends and was sat next to a girl i’d never met before. After the usual introductions someone passed her a plate with something that looked like stuffing.
‘ Here’s your nut roast’
‘ Oh are you vegetarian?’
‘No’ she replied rather sternly
‘ I’m vegan!’
I nearly replied ‘ and what planet is that?’
Instead I just realised we might not get on very well. My fears were confirmed when her soya milk arrived in a jug that wasn’t hers and she refused it in case all the dairy milk that might have been in it previously hadn’t been cleaned out properly.
Hey ho.

The third item worth discussing is temptation. We’re only human . and leaving tempty things within reach of our dumpy little fingers is usually a bad idea. Crisps, beer, wine, a life size Michael Buble made of chocolate are all not great things to leave lying around.. That’s where the famous saying ‘ keep your cupboards empty and your tummy will be empty.’ 😁
4th on the list is why are YouTube eating challengers always so slim? I mean they presumably have to practice before they take on the feats in the challenges linked below. So why are they not 300lbs + 🤭

5th on the list are fad and not so faddy diets. From the cabbage diet to the Akins diet. Keto diet, 5+2 diet there have been many different suggestions as to how to lose weight. There have been people who swore that only eating baby food was the way to go. I think the ‘ clip your nose while you eat’ diet is my favourite as allegedly stunting your sense of smell reduces your appetite.
The reality is back to if you eat more calories than you use you’ll put on weight. My friend has just lost twelve pounds in 22 days using the Michael Moseley 800 calorie a day diet. This is despite his halo falling off every Friday when he succumbs to two bacon butties for breakfast. Oh and he’s learnt he detests fish pate. 🤣
For what it’s worth I lost 2 stone in 118 days simply by exercising for 20 minutes to an hour every day eating and drinking what I wanted. My main advice is simply don’t eat a chocolate Michael Buble. 🤭
